TALENT VS CHARACTER!
By Olayiwola Ebenezer Oladehinde

“If talent is a building, then character is the foundation it stands on.”

We live in a world today where people seem to celebrate talent even more than character. We celebrate fame, riches, beauty, intelligence and all sorts of abilities with little consideration for character.
We celebrate superstars even when it’s evident that they lack right moral values. We honour individuals who acquire wealth via dubious means and use the deployment of talents only as a disguise. We place in high positions, individual with low personal standards and questionable character, lacking integrity and the requirements for such positions. The magnificence of talents can we now say, has robbed character of its rightful place in our world?
This might look like an advantage for the talented and those making headway with their talents but unfortunately, it is not.
The fact is this: the same world that celebrate, honour, esteem and reward you as a talented person will also be on standby to mock, humiliate, disregard and talk about you when they eventually come to discover your character deficiency.
Now, here is my piece of advice to you as a talented person desirous of success: Never allow anything, not fame, skillfulness, riches or wealth takes the place of a great character in your life. If talent is a building, then character is the foundation it stands on.
Talent can give you a NAME, you need character to keep that name.
Talent can give you a PLACE to STAND, you need character to keep STANDING.
Talent can OPEN DOORS for you, you need character to keep the doors open.
Talent can get you CONNECTED, it takes character to STAY CONNECTED.
Talent can give you a VOICE, you need character to keep that voice.
Talent can give you POWER, character is what earns you RESPECT.
WINNING takes TALENT but REPEATED WINNING takes CHARACTER.
If you have character, nothing else matter. If you don’t, nothing else also matters.
If you think this piece can be useful to others, please consider sharing it with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.

The greatest discovery a person can ever make is the discovery of his or her life’s purpose. And this is the fastest route to fulfillment in life. -Olapurpose James Asu

ONE MAJOR WAY OF BEING RESPONSIVE TO YOUR ABILITY

By PRAISE AKOBO It's possible you may or may not have thought of 'responsibility' as a 'response to ability'. So, let's roll. .. .. .. Have you checked, how that, when you were given a task, be it in school, church, office, firm or even that which you gave yourself? Did you see that, somehow, you felt lackadaisical at first but decided to take the bull by its horn? Now, the ability to do that was resident within, but came alive when you chose to act, this is why you hear words like UNTIL YOU GET STARTED, YOU CAN NOT START. .. .. .. I discovered that I understood something's about myself when I was given a responsibility in an N.G.O and accepted it. Just like you, I hesitated but until today, that has been a major factor in my growth. My NETWORK grew as well my NET WORTH. Lets say for instance, you are asked to be part of an Editorial Committee, you finally accepted, then along the line, you discovered ...

FREE MEAL, THE KILLER OF PERSONAL GREATNESS! “As mosquitoes cause malaria so free food leads to walking pneumonia in the operating system of our inner confidence. To get the lift, pay the bill. No free meal.” -Iziaq Olawale- As a bachelor who speaks across the country and beyond in his verge to add value through his business of MINDgineering and encouragement, my experience in some restaurants from highly rated ones in Victoria island to the so – called mama put on the mainland even in some bukas/local restaurants at Shibiri, Ojo Lagos has taught me some indispensable lessons which I’ll like to share with you today. As I visit some local restaurants in the city, I observed that some of them usually ask for money before service while others do allow you to pay your bill after service. The yorubas would say; ejo, esan owo yin o boda/uncle/aunty/daddy or mummy. Depends on your age and appearance while the non – Yorubas would say; oga, abeg, your money. As I g...
