A DAY IN LASPOTECH
By Olusegun Prosper

In 2010,
I joined students of LASPOTECH,
I didn't know much then,
But i knew i will learn.

Couples of month gone by,
I felt like I will drop by,
God helped me but I don't know why.

Mathematics drew me down,
Like I'm driven out of town,
My face covered with frowns,
The boy is not smiling.

Carry over found its way into my life,
Tell mummy or you lie,
Confidence in my heart filled my life,
I could see hope much like a swine.

Additional marks came from behind,
Oh my God! I smiled.

Couples of month gone by,
I became a box of knowledge,
I walked the school with long legs,
I walk much that the school roads all begged.

Weekly out of school on way home,
Like a journey to Jerusalem alone,
Or like the journey of life in the midst of stones.

If Lagos suddenly became a desert i didn't know,
Dust everywhere that turns white cars to yellow.

Like a fairy tale,
I was given a 3 year qualification,
I looked back again,
To check the time i came,
It was like a day.

Did I really schooled?
Are these people fools?
Still confused in the mood,
My Angel joined the school!

This can't be true!
So God planned this all the way through.

Lord, what can I give to you?
Even with the fact that I'm rude,
Selfish and cruel,

You've been busy saving me from doom,
What a merciful God are you.

Forgive me I pray,
Bless the words I say,
Help me give you all my days,
Save me from my ways,
Keep me in thy own way,
That i may not be like Cane.

Please give me the grace,
To see thy face,
In your Eternal place,
Where there will be no more pain.

Serving you everyday,
When no more night nor day,
It's all my chase,
Help me, do not allow me fail.

Unto thee o Lord,
Do I lift up my soul,
Oh my Lord,
I trust in you,
Let me not be ashamed, let not my enemies triumph over me.

AMEN.

BE FRIENDLY BUT CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS

In life, we will always need people. God did not create us to be in isolation. I guess that explains why Eve came into existence after the creation of Adam. . . . . As social being, we have an innate desire to connect with people, to experience dynamic relationship with one another. This need is as fundamental as our need for food and water. . . . . . So, my friend, drop that claim that you don't need anybody in life because you do. There is a symbiotic relationship between you and the society in which you live. . . . . . You know what? Solitary can be a terrible thing for human. Hence, everybody needs someone. Truth is, friendship adds to the fullness of life. . . . . . Hence, if you desire to become successful in life you will need people. No greater achievement was ever done by a single individual. You need people to be able to fulfill your vision. . . . . . However... . . . . . You need to be careful of the kind of people you associate w...
