HOW JIMOH IBRAHIM MADE HIS FIRST MILLION NAIRA!
By James Asu

You might have been beaten and battered by unpleasant situations and ugly circumstances around you. Maybe you’ve graduated from the tertiary institution for so long without any job in view. Or maybe you’ve a vision of your life’s purpose but lacks provision to pursue and bring it to reality. Don’t give up on yourself and don’t lose courage. I encourage you to always believe that you possess the ultimate power to bring your dream to pass and fulfil your God-given purpose in life.

As the lyrics of one of my songs goes like this: “In everything you do, never give up or lose hope, just believe you can” and the stanzas follows: “You can make it to the top, you can make your dream come true, never give up or lose hope, just believe you can. You can be what you want to be, you can achieve what you want to achieve, never give up or lose hope, just believe you can.”

Remember that,   to everything there is a time and a season and everything that ever happens to a person is for a reason and for a season. And no matter how far you are to the fulfillment of your dreams, you will certainly get to your destination in life.

I want to assure you that your moment of a better life has just begun.

Before you can acquire all what you desire in life, you need to know what it require, and I strongly believe this true life story of Jimoh Ibrahim (Chairman /CEO, NICON Group) during his trying times in the stormy seas of life will surely inspire and ignite your mind positively and actively with the courage to take instant action that will help you bring your dreams to fruition.

The story begins:

“I come from a tough background and that has made me brace-up to the challenges of modern day business. Where one comes from hardly matters but where you are headed.

My father was a bricklayer and my mum sold fish. But what really matters is that I am rich today. I represent the children of the poor in the midst of the rich and I think I will inconvenience the rich a little until they learn to accept the children of the poor because these children have the right to live.

I always thought that I would be successful and I know that one of the reasons why I am in this world is to be successful. I had been working towards it. Whether I achieve it or not is in the hands of God.
I am grateful for where God has put me. I didn’t just get here one day. It has been a steady growth from my school days till now. I studied Law in the University about 17 years ago, then went to Law school. I did the NYSC and went back for my master’s in Ife, had another master’s in Harvard University. So it was a continuous growth. I made my first million around 1991.

How I made my first million was very simple. I just organised seminars and training programme for local governments. I charged each N25, 000 with about 80 participants. That fetched me my first N2 million. And I did about 15 other workshops that year. So you can calculate how much I made in that year alone. By the time I was leaving NYSC, I was about N27million richer. I had that in my bank account.”

FROM AN INSECURE HOUSEWIFE TO AN INTERNATIONAL CELEBRATED MAKEUP ARTIST By Love Olaleye As an undergraduate in the university, I engaged in different business like buying and selling clothes, making zobo, just to earn some money to augment the pocket money that never seemed enough. None of these businesses brought me the kind of joy I experienced when I decided to pursue my passion in makeup. First I became a Mary Kay rep; I would sell and show students how to use the products they bought. The joy that beams on their faces was fulfilling, despite the frustration of running after debtors. I remember my first bride who happened to have been my friend who was kind enough to allow me experiment on her face. As I drove out early hours of the morning around 6am, my car brakes suddenly failed, I ran into a tree off the road but God saved me, no scratch, I came out and the car was badly damaged. As the car was being towed home, it was a decisive moment, I had to decide w...
GIVE YOUR TALENT A ROOM FOR GERMINATION AND FRUITING! “I didn't have to stumble and grope stealthily in the darkness, stride recklessly on the rocky paths or swim nonchalantly in the murky waters. Neither did I gamble with the hypothetical cards, nor stroll through life at ease with no aim and subjected to all whims and caprice.” By Olajumoke Hadassah It wasn't a submission to hobby, desires and ambitions! The story of my talent is a reality settled before my existence. It was one predestined from the foundation of the world. Am I a born writer? I think so. But more importantly, I am made, and still in the making. I started writing at a young age. I was an ardent writer of 'story books.' And I finished my first 'complete' book at the age of thirteen. My writing has an history, one which began right in my home. With my Father as a writer, my first experience in the literary world was inside his 'Room-Library'. At a point I felt my ...
