CHANGE AGENTS CAUSING CHANGE IN THEIR IMMEDIATE ENVIRONMENTS!
By Victor Okoro

Please Take Out Some Time To Read Through This Piece. Forgive Its Length, But I Believe It’s Worth Reading.

Latest research in one the most populated ghetto communities in Lagos have shown that its inhabitants are becoming more aware of themselves and their community. In tracking the reason(s) for this change, some contributing factors were identified, in the form of certain innovative individuals, or change agents, as we will call them. Their contributions have been felt in these communities: Ajegunle, Amukoko, Badia, Orile and its environs.

So, today I decided to take out time to celebrate all of you;
1. Thank you for answering the call to be change agents and to serve humanity
2. Thank you for keeping faith even when you think the breakthrough is here, yet seems so far
3. Thank you for not giving up, even when life made you look stupid and jobless
4. Thank you for staying on when it seems you & your platform has been used and dumped by respectable persons and organisations.
5. Thank you for weathering the storm when expectations were high from family and friends, yet you had nothing to offer.
6. Thank you for keeping on, when people made promises to you, yet proofed to be mortal men.
7. Thank you for holding on even when people you are surrounded by mentors and big friends yet you feel all alone,
8. Thank you for proving the words of Jesus “freely you received, freely you give”
9. Thank you for proving the words of Paul “we being poor, yet making people rich, having nothing, yet providing all things”

But I humbly beseech you to listen to these few words of mine
1. Very soon we will become rich and famous, please do not build up walls, do not play unreachable, do not create chains of PA’s, do not give numbers and mail address you will not manage yourselves.
2. Do not turn down speaking invitations, even if it seem as if your host do not have what it takes to host you, you be the one to help them burst their capacity to host, understand that this is the game of fans, the more fans you have the more bigger and better you become.
3. Please keep your work in this community, do not because of class or money change base to high brow areas, those who are change need no change, the proof that we are change agents is to cause the change right here in this community.
4. Understand that the enemy we need to conquer is the darkness in our community and not ourselves, so let’s not compete with each other, rather let’s stand together and compliment each other’s effort.

I hear my spirit that this is our time, I want us to brace up, change strategy, it is time to take the change beyond the four walls of our meeting venues, it is now time to take the fight to the gates/camp of the enemy, I urge you to take this message of change to the street, to market place, to schools & institutions, to government agency, to the tugs/hoodlums at every junctions/bus-stops, lets stretch beyond limit.

We are the planters, religious bodies are the waterier, and God keeps giving transformational increase to our community, we get these young raw from the street and when we have built them to a reasonable capacity they progress to join religious bodies. Thank you for sowing this seed of change and for complimenting the efforts of religious bodies.

Please do not be discourage to say, where are the people I have impacted so far, why are they not appreciating my effort, I sure you, very soon one out of the nine leper is coming to say thank you to you, and indeed that one will be ten in one.

Once again I salute your doggedness, your tenacity and sincerity of purpose. I love you all and am proud to be numbered amongst you guys. And should if you are a change and you were not mentioned, please forgive me, it was an oversight. You will definitely be celebrated.

And if you are out there confused on how to join these team players, you desire to start an impact project and do not know how to go about it, Please feel free to contact me via:

4O STRATEGIES FOR SUCCESSFUL LEADING (Series One) By OlaPurpose James Asu  I will briefly share on things you need to know in order to succeed as a leader. I shared ten of them yesterday on twitter @PurposeIcon. Today evening by 7pm I will be sharing 15 strategies and the remaining 15 on Saturday morning by 1 1 am . I caught the inspiration of this piece when I was on my way to the office, it came to me when I got to Adeniran Ogunsanya in Surulere :   1. To lead others successfully, you must first lead yourself successfully. 2. To lead a corporation, organization or nation successfully, you must first lead yourself successfully. 3. To lead successfully you must be a man of your word. Your word must be your bond. Fidelity and integrity must be given top priority. 4. To lead successfully, you must love everyone you’re leading and avoid hating anyone. 5. To lead successfully you must be joyful and hopeful at all times regardless ...

ONE MAJOR WAY OF BEING RESPONSIVE TO YOUR ABILITY

By PRAISE AKOBO It's possible you may or may not have thought of 'responsibility' as a 'response to ability'. So, let's roll. .. .. .. Have you checked, how that, when you were given a task, be it in school, church, office, firm or even that which you gave yourself? Did you see that, somehow, you felt lackadaisical at first but decided to take the bull by its horn? Now, the ability to do that was resident within, but came alive when you chose to act, this is why you hear words like UNTIL YOU GET STARTED, YOU CAN NOT START. .. .. .. I discovered that I understood something's about myself when I was given a responsibility in an N.G.O and accepted it. Just like you, I hesitated but until today, that has been a major factor in my growth. My NETWORK grew as well my NET WORTH. Lets say for instance, you are asked to be part of an Editorial Committee, you finally accepted, then along the line, you discovered ...
FILL YOUR OWN MOULD By Emeka Nobis I had boasted to Ikenna and my classmates that I could play the number five position in football. That was borne out of envy because Ikenna's football skills were hailed. I decided to tame his mouth. That was in 1992, my second year of secondary school at Marist Comprehensive Academy, Okigwe. I became the last substitution in the fifth minute of the second half of a match our school played with a neighbouring school. That meant I couldn't be replaced anymore. It was absolute tomfoolery. I ran around the pitch in a pattern similar to pollen grains in water. I couldn't even trap the ball, mostly letting it pass through the hollow of my legs to the opponents. I was playing what was called "Shorting one" in our local parlance. Football wasn't just my forte. For me, it was eating the desert before the entrĂ©e in a four-course meal.  But it was different when I handled a pen and a sheet of paper. I could write e...
