WHAT'S STOPPING YOU FROM BECOMING A ''LID LIFTER.''?

My journey with leadership began more than two decades ago. I never imagined as a young man living in Iran, I'd emigrate to America and be mentored by the extraordinarily influential Dr. John C. Maxwell - the number one leadership expert in the world!

If you're a leader who has become comfortable and even complacent with “what works” - you've essentially limited yourself and everyone you influence with a low lid mentality.

1) A true leader strives to become a “Lid Lifter” for himself and others while actively encouraging open and direct dialogue, respect, and coaching in the workplace.

2) A true leader never operates or allows others around him to use a “low lid” mentality, holding others back. Rather, they lead and coach others to success and personal development. A leader sets high standards and pursues goals with optimal purpose.

3) “Lifting the lid” is a deliberate and conscious choice that doesn’t happen by chance. A good leader is both self-aware and equally cognizant of others' needs and desires. A true #leader effectively gauges all situations and circumstances reasonably and confidently in order to execute sound and fair decisions.

These three steps require discipline, self-awareness, and dedication. I deliberately created a growth environment, supplemented with positive people and daily accountability. I decided to challenge and cultivate relationships by working with some of the best people in the world. Implementing these steps begins by understanding your level of professional effectiveness and what you can do to develop it even further.

Leading an organization with a low lid is analogous to the practice of training baby elephants to be submissive by chaining them to a post. Initially, they’ll fight with all of their might to break free. But after a while, they’ll simply give up and accept the restraints. Once these baby elephants become adults, the chains are unnecessary to keep them immobile and restricted to their posts. In the end, a thin rope will suffice in keeping them stationary.

Similarly, when you’re an ineffective leader, you restrict growth and impede the progress of professional advancement within your team, by confining them to adhering to the ways in which only you believe work! Are you now able to see the devastating impact leading with a low lid and fixed mentality can have any business, company, and organization?

What’s stopping you from becoming a “lid lifter.”? You’re your own greatest challenge. If you can adopt a growth mindset – you’ll overcome your shortcomings. Once you choose to change, you'll be powerfully unstoppable!

Remember, it's solely up to you what type of leader you are! Select your work environments wisely. Never underestimate or downplay your #influence with others. Remove the lid and you’ll also experience the unlimited opportunities that exist for you and your team towards achieving greatness. Lead influence daily. #Leadership #Leadershift #JohncMaxwell #Blessed #Grateful #NoExcusesMindset #farshadasl #bankerslife

BE FRIENDLY BUT CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS

In life, we will always need people. God did not create us to be in isolation. I guess that explains why Eve came into existence after the creation of Adam. . . . . As social being, we have an innate desire to connect with people, to experience dynamic relationship with one another. This need is as fundamental as our need for food and water. . . . . . So, my friend, drop that claim that you don't need anybody in life because you do. There is a symbiotic relationship between you and the society in which you live. . . . . . You know what? Solitary can be a terrible thing for human. Hence, everybody needs someone. Truth is, friendship adds to the fullness of life. . . . . . Hence, if you desire to become successful in life you will need people. No greater achievement was ever done by a single individual. You need people to be able to fulfill your vision. . . . . . However... . . . . . You need to be careful of the kind of people you associate w...
